Welcome

In my office, psychotherapy is about assisting people through transition, providing opportunities for self-growth, offering guidance and helping change happen. We all experience challenging situations, some which we gracefully and successfully navigate and some that encourage or push us to seek assistance.

Seeing a therapist can be a meaningful yet intense experience; I provide a comforting, safe atmosphere, where your experiences are held sacred, where your story is heard, where unconscious and unhealthy limitations are healed.

Individual Consultation

I have provided individual and group consultation to EMDR therapists since 2011 and IFS therapists since 2017.

Consultation can answer questions, provide recommendations, and help clarify areas of difficulty and confusion. Consultees meet through a telehealth platform, which allows consultation to therapists living locally and out of state.

About me

My journey to becoming a psychotherapist and licensed professional counselor was not a straight line. It included five college majors, a business degree, many jobs in the marketing field, with graduate school and a master’s degree on the side. Add in several years in banking and becoming a bank VP, teaching journal writing classes, and finally, I began my career as a psychotherapist. All those locales and careers helped form who I am, how I work in my office and how I understand my clients.

The Internal Family Systems and EMDR Therapy trainings have given depth to my practice and continue to be a regular part of my professional life, as well as additional training opportunities focusing frequently on trauma and dissociation. I became an EMDRIA Approved Consultant in 2010 and an IFS Consultant in 2021.

In my professional and personal life, journal writing continues to provide continuity. Teachers like Natalie Goldberg, Anne Lamott, Christina Baldwin, and Ann Linnea enhance and expand my writing practice. As an animal advocate, the animals in my home and my connection to them often provides information helping me understand this connection for the people I meet in my office. Your creatures, like your human family members are part of your tribe, part of who comforts and supports you.
